Stephen M. (Pete) Peterson is the Managing Director of the Law Firm Business Institute. Mr. Peterson was formerly the Chief Operating Officer for Hildebrandt International, a renown law firm consultancy. He was also the CFO and Director of Administration for two large law firms. He has counseled firms on strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, compensation, risk management, improving administrative structures, capitalization, profitability management, and profitability improvement.

Mr. Peterson has been employed in the legal services sector since 1987. 

Mr. Peterson is also Adjunct Professor in the Master of Science in Legal Administration at the University of Denver College of Law. In addition, he is on the Board of Editors for the publication, Accounting and Financial Planning for Law Firms. Mr. Peterson also speaks at several national legal related conferences and seminars each year.

Prior to entering the legal sector, Mr. Peterson was a CPA with an international accounting firm, a partner in a local CPA firm and he served as a CFO for a multi-bank holding company.
